corruption of Black Friday
First of all what are stores doing opening at 5AM in the morning, or some at Midnight (That was a conversation point at my thanksgiving dinner)? Having a store open dramatically earlier is not evolving. Management is going to be EXTRA Tired, and that means MORE unmanaged. The CEO's and presidents who come up with this store opening policy, let alone the disclosure, fine print, and 1 deal per soul item in stock (Referring to the display item) are off their hierarchal rockers. Sharon what local electric store did you go to exactly? it wasn't a big one like P.C. Richards, best Buy, or anything like that I'm guessing. That's what gets to me, the lack of concentration on innovation, and the excessive value of just the demeanor to "Have the Stones to do something so Ridiculously unmanaged, and un-beneficial." When the soul argument for the company is that it might get a customer in hooking them with an add, while they're tired and making them spend money on something that they didn't want in the first place is a profit. Well that's not providing a product or a service that benefits a customer through the exchange, that's profiting off of the lack of disciplined will, and overall ignorance of the customer through an exchange. It's not sustaining the customer which should immediately blow the whistle of ethics to the CEO that the customer is being manipulated to their disadvantage unethically, ultimately reducing the integrity of the capitalized business. The energy to wake up early enough, commute to the store, etc. is corruptible. Black Friday isn't even "IT", Black Friday is only the beginning... until Christmas is finally over. And my hatred to how unregulated Management has become is that the unsustainable practices of all Private citizens, as well as corporations are exceeding the moderate restriction of this holiday's length. All decorating, marketing, outdoing one another from years before have exerted energy 12 days of the year Minimaly. Christmas isn't 12 days, Christmas is 42 days when you just start on Nov 27th ending the last day of christmas.. and I know some start even earlier :-( . I hope you and your friend never put yourself at harms reach with this devolved management of Black Fridays.

My friend requested me I help him with a guerilla marketing tour for his band, and Since I've been unemployed for quite some time, and I'm taking courses online I figured I'd help him. Well, those 14 days living in his Honda Accord was me experience that I had to find the positive and enjoyment out of... I certainl won't foget that one. You have wonderfully deep thoughts Sharon. If you'd like to be involved with my organization http://www.artfullyaware.org take a look and tell me what you think, in terms of helping out displaced villagers. I am not trying to put you on the spot, if you look at the website that's good enough for me. I just wanted to extend my passion to someone else who I assess is very thoughtful and passionate person. I know trying to get people a christmas present is hard, I'm unemployed, the gifts i give to people are the greeting cards from my Non for Profit Artfully Aware. It's impossible for the receiver to complain about that gift. Sorry, back to the thought: "I wonder if lots of CEO's were in school learning about fraudulent, and corruptive activities and advocated how wrong they are. And now years after they've taken that high society CEO Kool-Aide Trip do they knowingly have act hypocritically, or were they simply kept ignorant from these lessons."
ReplyDeleteGuerilla Marketing (In the case that I participated in) was where we were on board for following a music tour across the west coast. The goal of having a big following spread out over a region, which could initiate an increase in market fan base was attainable through our skillful capabilities. The tour was a "Fall Out Boy" tour, and the music venues brought a large demographic of people interested in music, and our genre of music. We brought our instruments, IPod Players, and a full sedan of our bands merchandise, and luggage. We greeted fans of this tour at every venue hours before any set of the show started, so they considered us more entertaining than not listening to anyone. We walked around and played our songs for people on our ipods. We had signatures for our E-Mailing List/Newsletter. We also sold a lot of tee shirts and CDs, so our bands name would spread by word of mouth exposure. We made several contacts on our tour. Two of the touring bands mentioned to us inside during the there shows. David Artuleta (Former American Idol contestant) bought a cd, and a record label invited us to tour with them for another guerilla marketing tour (This time at their expense). We organized our trip with a safe box (For the cash we would have on hand before depositing it local bank branches on the tour. We had video cameras and regular cameras. We also had a blackberry to upload our guerilla tour footage (With fans named :-) & correspond with all who connected with us on our social network's profiles. The fans would correspond back, and wish us support and purchased mp3's of our songs from itunes.
ReplyDeleteI am in total agreement that CEO's most likely disregarded important disciplining practical lessons in school. I look at the CEO of Tyco with the expensive window treatments that went for over $100,000.00 and can't possibly believe someone would invest this much on this. They must have never taken an anthropology course and realize their place in this world, especially in a corporate bubble.
